The Sacred Heart Gremlins soccer team defeated KC Lutheran for a second time this season.

The Monday afternoon game was rescheduled from a Sept. 22 rainout.

Sacred Heart scored within the first 30 seconds of the game. The Knights committed a penalty (handball in the box) and senior Jackson Manning converted the PK into the Gremlins' first goal. Jackson scored about 15 minutes later making the score 2-0 at halftime.

There was no scoring for almost the entire second half, but with 15 seconds left in the game, sophomore Gabriel Malacara took a hard shot which was deflected by the goalie. The ball landed in a perfect spot for junior Diego DeLeon to score.

Gremlins won, 3-0.

Sacred Heart travels to Cole Camp Thursday, Oct. 12. The JH plays at 5 p.m., followed by varsity.
