If you're a major league baseball fan, you would hope you could sit down in front of the TV and watch your baseball team. For years the Kansas City Royals and the St. Louis Cardinals have been available to watch on most cable and satellite services under FOX Sports. Now that Bally Sports, owned by Sinclair Broadcasting, has taken over it's not as easy to tune in your favorite team, especially if it's the Kansas City Royals.

According to the New York Post, a story just came out that Sinclair Broadcasting is looking for potential investors for their stand-alone streaming service. From the information from the Post, right now $23 would be the going price to stream the KC games monthly.

Makes you want to go back to the days when all you needed was a television set and an external antenna to bring in the ball games. I remember back in the 70's we didn't have any problem catching the Royals this way. Now you may not have watched every game on the schedule but you didn't have to pay for the right to watch the games either. If there was a game that wasn't going to be broadcast on television you turned to your local radio Kansas City Royals affiliate to catch the games with Denny Matthews and Fred White.

The game, streaming, cable, and satellite, has changed and I'm not so sure if it's benefiting the baseball fan. At least not through the pocketbook.

While it use to be a treat watching the game on the TV, it's now becoming a financial burden.
