The second suspect in the August shooting death of Leon Hinkley has been arrested.

A press release from the Pettis County Sheriff's Department says that Ronald M. Cage was located and taken into custody on Thursday (Nov 2), on an active Pettis County warrant stemming from the August 17, 2017 homicide of Leon Hinkley.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Department says Kansas City, MO Police officers arrested Cage after he was identified during an unrelated incident.

In August, Cage was charged in Pettis County Circuit Court with six criminal counts; 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Robbery, 2 counts of Armed Criminal Action, Stealing, and Unlawful Use of a Firearm. Cage's total bond was set at $250,000.00.

Cage was being held in the Jackson County Corrections Center pending transfer to Pettis County.

Leon Hinckley was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside a home at the Sunset Village Trailer Park just west of Sedalia. He was then taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center where he later died.

A second suspect, Branden Hendren, has also been charged in the case. He was located and taken into custody on August 24, 2017 in Independence, MO and is currently being held in the Pettis County Jail, pending trial.
