How many times do you hear the stories and the rumors of days past in Sedalia? On Friday, July 26, you'll have a chance to see some of that history in downtown Sedalia.

From Main Street Logo's Facebook page, a post from Thursday, July 25:

How many of you know our building is on the National Historic Registry? Want to know why? Have you always wanted to see the upstairs? Well, tomorrow (Friday July 26th) from 3pm to 5pm we will have the upstairs open, come on down.

From looking at the pictures posted on the site, the upstairs at Main Street Logos was a brothel back in the day.

According to a post from The Sedalia Katy Depot, Sedalia was known for it's Red Light District:

Sedalia had “one of the midland’s most notorious red-light districts.” That prostitution thrived should not have been surprising, since Sedalia was a rail head, a federal military post during the Civil War, the end of the cattle drives out of Texas in the mid 1860’s, and a rapidly growing industrial and mercantile center in the 1870’s and 1880’s.

So if you want to see a piece (no pun intended) of Sedalia history, drop by Friday afternoon.
