November 29 is the date for the annual Jingle on the Green event at State Fair Community College. "We've got a full slate of activities planned at the college, and we hope that everybody will come out and enjoy it with us," said SFCC's Karen Simon "This is the 11th year for Jingle on the Green, followed by our annual craft show."

Jingle on the Green is a free holiday event that includes live music, demonstrations, an appearance by Santa Claus, and desserts. This year there will also be a graphic historical timeline display commemorating the college's 50th anniversary.

"We have area groups that come in and perform, typically for 15-20 minute intervals," said Simon. "We have three performance areas around the campus, and then there is also a craft project for our young artists in our community. We have wreath making. We are also doing a demonstration in our machine, tool and robotics area."  The highlight of the evening is over 1200-1500 luminarias that outline the campus, and it is absolutely beautiful. It is the college's way of saying 'thank you' for supporting the college."

Admission to Jingle on the Green is free. The event takes place from 6-8 p.m. on the Sedalia campus. Visitors will also be able to park for free in all campus lots.
