If you like barbeque then you'll want to head to Arrowhead Stadium for the Kansas City BBQ Festival this July.

Billed as BBQ. Bands. Beer. The inaugural Kansas City BBQ Festival is set to happen in the parking lots of Arrowhead Stadium Friday July 9 - Sunday July 11. Organizers are positioning it as the place to grab a cold beer and sample great barbeque not only from Kansas City's finest pitmasters but from the best pitmasters across the United States.

Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que, Plowboys BBQ and Jones Bar-B-Q will be there from the Kansas City area. Along with Sugarfire Smokehouse from St. Louis. Texas is well represented too, with Black's BBQ from Lockhart. Black's is the oldest BBQ joint in Texas still run by the family who founded it. And 2M Smokehouse from San Antonio is bringing their unique style of "BBQ con ganas" to the festival.

Additionally the festival is planning on a line up of live music and barbeque demos from the pitmasters' themselves. Organizers have not yet announced bands / artists appearing during the festival, nor a schedule for the barbeque demos. I would expect those things to be announced as the festival date gets closer.

What's the cost? Entry to the festival is free and barbeque, drinks and more will be available for purchase. There will also be an all you can eat and drink option called the Q Pit Pass. People who purchase the Q Pit Pass will enjoy two and a half hours of all you can eat barbeque, free cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks, no lines, and private bathrooms. Q Pit Pass tickets go on sale Tuesday May 11.
