Sedalia STING Unit Uncovers Several Thousand Dollars’ Worth of Illegal Prescription Pills on Liberty Park Blvd.
Shortly before 6 a.m. this morning (June 17), the Sedalia Police STING Unit and other officers served a search warrant at 1902 Liberty Park Blvd. Two suspects were found at the residence. A search of the residence revealed marijuana, drug packaging supplies a digital scale and several thousand dollars’ worth of illegal prescription pills. Officers also seized three vehicles and $4400 in cash.

The Sedalia City Council is expected to vote on the "Sedalia Clean Air Indoor Act of 2013" on Monday, June 17. The draft of the smoking ban has been posted for the public to view. If passed, the ordinance could be in effect as soon as September 1, 2013.

The Bothwell Regional Health Center Foundation recently announced final proceeds of $19,762.50 from its Lub Dub 5K/10K Walk Run held on April 27. The funds will be used to purchase an Xper Swing software addition for the hospital's cardiac catheterization lab.

Tanker Explosion Closes I-70 Near I-435 in Kansas City
A fiery wreck and explosion closed down both directions of Interstate 70 in east Kansas City Friday morning (May 7) after a tanker truck carrying an alcohol-based solution crashed and exploded on the highway.
