Behka’s Enquiring Minds Recap: Week of February 16 [OPINION]

Alright folks, it's time for us to go back and look at some of the answers you guys gave in our latest round of Enquiring Minds surveys.  These surveys are just an excuse to get to talk to you about things while you get prizes and such.  WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH THAT.  Anyway, here's some of the general consensus of what you guys thought - I couldn't possibly go through every answer and list them here, but you get the idea.

On Monday, I asked you guys about shoes. In a new experiment, women asked people on the street for assistance on a survey, each time wearing a different pair of shoes. Invariably, one young woman wearing high heels was the most popular with men.  Guys, do you like when a woman wears high heels?  Ladies, do you get excited about shoes?  Everybody, how many pairs of shoes do you currently own?  What are some of the different uses you have for each pair?

Yes I like a woman in high heels. I have I have 6 pairs of shoes, two everyday wear, workout pair, work boot, dress shoe, hunting boot

That sounds about normal - dudes tend to not keep a lot of extra footwear. Not to be stereotyping.

My wife has like 7 pairs that she don't wear

Maybe they're special occasion shoes. Maybe you just need to make a special occasion, and then she'd break em out!

As stereotypical as it sounds-yes I do get excited about shoes. I don't wear heels but I can appreciate a beautiful pair. I live in flats, tennis shoes and comfy boots. I've never counted but I'd guess I have about 50 pairs of shoes.

See, I don't think I really get excited about shoes... but then I wear the same sneakers every day, so........there's that.

I love shoes I have to have a storage locker for my shoes. I have shoes for snow, shoes for inside the house and shoes for the beach.

See, I think this where you gotta pay attention - guys can wear just about the same type of shoes or even CLOTHES for a casual or updressed occasion. For ladies, those are often two completely different styles. We have different shoes for different purposes, you know?

I need some butt kickin shoes! I wonder if those are steel toed.....

On Tuesday, I asked you guys about the stuff that should be common knowledge, or the stuff that every one should know or know how to do.

I think every person should know how to:
change a tire
check their tire pressure
add/let out air in tires
make a pie crust
make at least 5 meals from memory
write a thank you note
write a check

You know, you've got a point there. I know how to do.... all of those things (I had to double check the 5 meals). WIN!

Everyone should know how to write and read in cursive. Kids today dont know that.

I know! These days, they don't even teach it! I hope it doesn't go obsolete.

Balance a check book, basic cooking, laundry, read; respect others

You've got some more great answers there - especially about respect for others. That comes from your parents, hopefully.

Then on Wednesday, I was asking you what you thought about this year's Missouri State Fair Concerts. We know one show that's coming (Def Leppard, Styx, Tesla) but what else would you like to see?

Alice In Chains, Slash, Bush, Pop Evil, Black Label Society, Clutch, Sevendust.....

Oooh, you're a rocker. You know, some of those might actually be possible - especially something like Bush or Alice in Chains.

Awww, I wish. I've seen them live twice, but I don't think they're touring this year.

Well either way, we've all got our different ideas. We'll have to see what's actually coming!

On Thursday, I asked you about the idea of self-driving cars. We already have cars that will park themselves... and now they're testing cars that will run on GPS. All you have to do is put in the destination of where you wanna go, and the car takes care of the rest. So would you use a self-driving car? What would be the best part of it, or what would keep you away?

Great concept, but in my case technology always seems to break at some point. Just like our children not being able to tell time on anything but digital, or using a book to look up stuff. It is just weird but it would be cool. I'm a purist. If I'm going to die in a car accident, I want to know that I did it, not my car or somebody hippie hacking it if that makes sense. PPL ARE GETTING LAZY.

I do understand the idea of making things too easy. And you've got to have your own personal responsibility.

I honestly don't know if I would purchase/use a self driving car. I would for sure test drive one and I am not opposed to them being manufactured. It's just the idea that humans are slowly figuring out how to undo everything. A bright side of this would be helping people with driving phobias and anxiety. If this could somehow allow blind or other significantly disabled individuals the freedom of driving I think that would be revolutionary. It might even mean safer driving-who knows?!

That was a big point that I thought of. So many people would have more freedom, and would be independent if they had their own transportation. It would ensure the elderly would always be able to drive, and the disabled would never have to depend on someone else.

self driving cars would probably drive better than what I see around here.

There's our cynic! You're definitely right. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking!
