Boone County Crash Kills One Harrisburg Man, Injures Another
One Harrisburg man was killed and another one injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday in Boone County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2007 GMC Sierra, driven by 29-year-old David L. Williams of Harrisburg, was on Route J, north of Drane Road around 12:15 a.m., when the GMC traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side, where it struck a fence and overturned, ejecting the driver and passenger, who were not wearing seat belts, according to the report.
His passenger, 27-year-old Corry M. Crowley of Harrisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene by Boone County Fire Protection District personnel. The body was taken to Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory in Columbia.

Williams suffered serious injuries, and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by ambulance.
The Sierra was totaled and towed.
This was Troop F's fourth fatality for October, and the 41st for 2023.
Williams was later arrested by the Patrol at 3 a.m. He now faces a charge of driving while intoxicated, causing the death of another.
