The school year may be winding down, but Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri is gearing up for Summer Program, a 10-week long learning program designed to keep children’s minds active and busy.

“We’re really looking forward to a summer filled with fun,” said Director of Operations Tyler Hudson. “Boys & Girls Club staff are working hard to plan activities throughout the summer with a focus on learning and service to the community.”

Summer Program will feature robotics and coding programs, construction, cooking and gardening, arts, field trips and other fun and interesting programs. Members will also have the chance to go swimming once a week at Centennial Pool. There are no wait lists for Summer Program but Boys & Girls Club staff are encouraging parents to sign their child up soon to make sure all applications are approved before the start of the program.

As in years past, Summer Program will be divided into two age groups – those just finishing kindergarten through fourth grade will be at the Parkview Elementary Site, and those in fifth grade and up will be at The CLUB, located in the basement of First Baptist Church.

The Elementary Summer Program will be from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., June 5 – August 9 at Parkview Elementary. Cost is $10 per day and includes lunch and snack. The CLUB (middle school and up) will be from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., June 5 – August 9 at First Baptist Church. Cost is $5 per day and includes lunch and snack. Entrance to the church will be on the north, Sixth Street side.
