The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri’s 31st annual virtual Evening of Heart & Hope, presented by The W-K Family of Dealerships, raised more than $115,000 for local children, including more than $12,000 in Whatever It Takes Scholarship funds, thanks to generous support from the Sedalia area community.

“Our 31st annual Evening of Heart & Hope was historical; never before have we held a virtual event and our community stepped up in a big way,” said Executive Director Gary Beckman. “As our supporters have done throughout the pandemic, once again they were not shy in doing Whatever It Takes for our kiddos.”

Bidding on auction items lasted four days with a special Boys & Girls Club promotional video premiering on the actual auction day, February 20, on the Club’s Facebook and YouTube channels. Guests were able to bid on more than 60 auction items, including signed Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia, trips and family getaways, several luxury purses and wallets and more.

“I’d especially like to thank our presenting sponsors, The W-K Family of Dealerships and the Weymuth family for their long term, continued support of the Club,” Beckman said. “And a big thank you to everyone who jumped in with their heartfelt support to provide hope to our young people.”
