Their appearance on the show will come one day after their latest album, "Map of the Soul: Persona," is released. The album was announced just days before the SNL reveal, according to a report from Billboard. BTS will head out on the "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" world tour after the album's released. The tour will hit cities in the United States and abroad, Rolling Stone revealed.

Fans of the Korean pop act were delighted by the news. Not long after SNL announced that the band would appear, Twitter was flooded with reactions from BTS stans around the world. Some fans are hopeful that the band will participate in a skit while on the show, though nothing has been confirmed.
