BTS are nominated in four categories at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, a year after fans felt completely snubbed by the group's lack of nominations at the 2018 VMAs.

On Tuesday (July 23), MTV announced the nominees for their annual award ceremony. BTS' 2019 hit "Boy With Luv" feat. Halsey is nominated in four categories: Best Art Direction, Best Choreography, Best Collaboration and Best K-Pop.

The Best K-Pop category is a new category for 2019. Other nominees include BLACKPINK ("Kill This Love"), Monsta X ("Who Do You Love?" feat. French Montana), TOMORROW X TOGETHER ("Cat & Dog"), NCT 127 ("Regular") and EXO ("Tempo").

It's been a huge year for BTS: The group presented at the 2019 GRAMMY Awards, where their album Love Yourself: Tear was nominated for Best Recording Package; they performed on Saturday Night Live; and they completed a sold-out stadium world tour. On social media, fans were quick to react and share their congratulatory messages regarding the band's VMAs nominations—but also expressed their disappointment about being excluded again from the main categories.
