Burn Ban for Sedalia Lifted

Due to significant rainfall amounts and cooler weather, the burn ban that was recently issued for the City of Sedalia has been lifted, according to Sedalia Fire Chief Matt Irwin.

Please note that any open burning requires a permit and inspection by the fire department. Recreational burn pits that meet the standard set forth by the City of Sedalia do not require an inspection prior to use. The fire department still urges caution while performing any open burning.

"This lifting of the burn ban is only applicable to the City of Sedalia and DOES NOT affect those areas outside of the city limits that are not within our jurisdiction," Chief Irwin said.
