City of Sedalia’s Light Contest Rules Noted
Judging for the City of Sedalia's 43rd annual Christmas Light Contest will take place Tuesday, Dec. 12 starting at 6:30 p.m.
Applications for the contest will be accepted until 12 noon Monday, Dec. 11.
If you have not won a cash prize in the last three years (2020, 2021 and 2022) you may enter the contest by submitting an application to the Mayor's Office, 200 South Osage, or email tjackson@sedalia.com.
The City of Sedalia may reject applications that are not properly filled out with the necessary authorizations, it was noted.
A total of 40 points are possible, judging on lighting, eye appeal, originality and overall appeal.
Property must be in the corporate limits of the City of Sedalia to be eligible. The complete display must remain in place throughout the Christmas holiday (at least through Dec. 25) for the enjoyment of the community.
City employees are not eligible to compete in the contest.
