A Cole Camp woman was killed in a head-on collision that occurred Monday morning in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2017 Ford Escape, driven by 70-year-old Philip D. Wellington of Cole Camp, was passing another vehicle on US Highway 50, one-half mile east of Missouri 5 around 11 a.m., when it struck an eastbound 2018 GMC 3500, driven by Eric S. Friedly of Otterville.

Wellington suffered moderate injuries and was flown to University Hospital by MU air ambulance.

His passenger, 74-year-old Patricia L. Ives of Cole Camp, was pronounced at the scene at 12:24 p.m., by Morgan County Coroner Maynard Jones. The body was taken to Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home.

Frieldy suffered minor injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by ambulance.

None of those involved were wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Don's Truck Towing.

There were a total of six Troopers on scene.
