Both the National Football League and the Southeastern Conference are tweaking the schedules of the Kansas City Chiefs and Mizzou Tigers respectively due to the Coronavirus.

The Chiefs were scheduled to play the Bills in Buffalo on Thursday night. The NFL has moved that game to next Monday, October 19 at 4:00PM CDT. The NFL's press release says the game is moved due to the postponement of the Broncos / Patriots game. That said, this postponement has a lot more to due with Buffalo playing Tennessee tomorrow night than the Broncos / Patriots.

Mizzou was set to play Vanderbilt in Columbia next Saturday, October 17, but according to a letter to Mizzou fans from Director of Athletics Jim Sterk, the game versus Vanderbilt has been rescheduled for the end of the season with the game being played on Saturday December 12. The game has been postponed because of "positive tests and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Vanderbilt football program, consistent with Southeastern Conference COVID-19 management requirements."

For the Chiefs, the postponement might not be that bad. While the inclination may be to go right out and play again after being upset by the Las Vegas Raiders, perhaps having the entire week to make adjustments and prepare for the next game isn't a bad thing.

That said if you're Mizzou, coming off an upset of LSU, there was probably some momentum that would have been beneficial to have going into another home game on this Saturday. Now Mizzou will sit idle this weekend and won't play until October 24 when they hit the road to play Florida.

While no interruption to a season is ideal, if these bumps in the road are all that will impact the season for Mizzou and the Chiefs, we can consider us lucky.
