Guys, I don't know about you, but when it comes to DIY projects, I've always been a little hesitant.

I mean, I can do all sorts of things by myself if we're being real.  I can check the oil on my car, I can cook a mean cheese quesadilla, I can sew that hole in your socks.

But when it comes to big, heavy, household DIY.... I always thought I should just leave it alone.  Because I don't know anything about it, you know?  But the thing is, learning how to repair things around my house isn't something unlearnable.

So, this year, NJ and I have decided we're going to pull up our bootstraps (so to speak) and finally start fixing up my house the way I've always wanted it.  Luckily he is a strapping, handsome, and tattooed young man who has some knowledge of construction already, so already we're in the black.

We decided to start in the smallest room in the house (that doesn't involve plumbing), the foyer.

DIY Disaster Part 1

One weekend gone, maybe one weekend to go. Now we have to paint.  And finish spackling the ceiling (which is going to be hard. My house is about a hundred years old, and they had high ceilings back then).  And then finish getting the paint off the woodwork.  And THEN, see if my carpet will ever be clean of dust and pebbles again.

Then, the living room, the dining room, the bedroom, the kitchen,............oh god.  This is never, ever going to end, is it.

Join me on this journey, won't you? Maybe you can comment and tell me some things to try differently next time, or you can share your DIY stories.

Destructively yours,
Behka
