This Friday night, Sedalia will get a rare opportunity to see one of the fastest rising stars on the blues scene. Samantha Fish will be at Dickie Doo BBQ starting at 8:30 p.m. Samantha just won the BMA for Newcomer of the Year, and if you have seen her live, you know what a great rockin’ show she puts on. She has also gained international success with her Girls With Guitars tour with Cassie Taylor (daughter of legendary Otis Taylor) and Dani Wilde. Do not miss this show. Smokestack Lightening
The best song I have ever heard Samantha Fish sing is a Howlin’ Wolf classic, "Smokestack Lightening." She did about a 10 minute version of this song live the last time she was at the Doo and it was amazing. If you are not a blues fan, you would still know at least a portion of this song. It’s the theme song for a popular TV commercial for a “ED” medicine, but to me, anything Samantha Fish sings is vocal Viagra!
