Driver Arrested After Running From Police For A Half Block

On the afternoon of April 18th, Sedalia Police attempted to stop a motor vehicle with no registration displayed near the area of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue.

The vehicle attempted to evade the Officer before stopping at West 14th and South Sneed Avenue, where the driver fled on foot.

The driver ran about a half a block before being arrested by the Officer without incident.

Austin Taylor Schoonover, 28, of Sedalia, was taken to the Pettis County Jail for processing.

Schoonover was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a License, Resisting Arrest, and Careless Driving.
