When it comes to fast food chains in Sedalia, we have an awful lot of them.  2 McDonalds, 2 Hardee's, Wendy's, Burger King, Arby's, KFC, Panera, Freddie's, Taco Bell and a Long John Silvers/A&W.  I am sure I am forgetting someone, and many other places have drive-thru options for pick up.  Ever get frustrated waiting in the line? Ever get an order wrong? Of course you have.  Mistakes happen.

A data analysis company that uses "mystery shoppers" to grade places on customer experience just released an annual report on fast food joints. You can read that report HERE.  So I started to think about which places have been the best or worst in town when it comes to getting through the line in a timely matter and the accuracy of the order.

I posed this question on our Facebook page and one response said that the Wendy's on Limit was the fastest, and Steak and Shake was the slowest (Thank you Sherry Gritz Smith).  I have to agree about that Wendy's.  From my experience, even when the line is long, it seems to move pretty well and I have yet to have an order wrong.  I do think some locations that may be slower, have staffing issues.  And some of these chains make things to order as opposed to having some orders made ahead of time.

For the report, the mystery shoppers went to 10 chains at more than 1,500 locations nationwide from June through July . . . and here's what they found:

The average total time spent in drive-thru lanes decreased by about 10 seconds from a year ago to 372 seconds.  That's more than six minutes . . . and it's almost a minute longer than pre-pandemic times.  Overall, order accuracy is about 85% in this year's report, which is about the same as last year.  That means 15% of the orders were NOT filled correctly.  You can find out which chains did the best and worst in regards to speed and accuracy by clicking HERE.

Who has the best drive thru in town? Do you have a favorite? Or do you have a story of a place that consistently seems to mess up your order, or are just really slow? Share your thoughts.
