A 44-year-old Sedalia man died in a fiery crash that occurred in Morgan County Sunday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2016 Ford Escape driven by Dustin J. Dillon was on Missouri 5, about 58 feet north of Railroad Lane at 4:34 p.m. Sunday, when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, struck a stop sign, then a concrete retaining wall, then caught fire.

Dillon was pronounced dead at the scene by Morgan County Coroner Dr. M. B. Jones. The body was taken to Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton.

Morgan County deputies assisted the five Troopers at the scene.
