Fight Food Insecurity While Getting A Sweet Fair Discount

I think you guys know I'm always looking for ways to save a few bucks here and there. I mean, does anybody like to pay more when they don't have to? Of course not. So here's something that's going on today that can save you some serious money when it comes to the Missouri State Fair.

Normally, admission to the Fair costs $12 for an adult. So if you're taking a group of four, that's almost fifty bucks. Well, what if I told you that you can take that same group today for only eight bucks? You'd look at me like I had a second head, right? Wrong. All you have to do is go to your kitchen, pull out a few non perishable food items (like a can of beans, can of fruit, can of ham, one of those cheap ten packets of ramen, you dig it), take them with you to the Fair, and bam. Discount. Why?

Tuesday is the Missouri Farmers Care Food Drive. For a donation of $2 or 2 non-perishable food items you can get into the fair for just $2 . This drive takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Food Bank of West Central Missouri is going to take the donations and get them to local families who fight food insecurity. It's a pretty serious problem here in our area, although it's not a commonly talked about or easily seen problem. Your donation will go a long way to make sure these people, these families, will get a good meal every week. And it's saving you some bank!

So go ahead, go through a get a couple donations, grab your mask, and head out to the Fair to have yourself a ball. You'll have a good feeling that you helped someone in need, and you can use that extra ten bucks to get yourself a corn dog.
