Sedalia Fire crews were called to a single-story residential fire around 1 a.m. Saturday at 818 East 9th.

“Arriving crews found heavy fire coming through the roof of the residence. There was no power or gas on to the residence. There was heavy structural damage to the roof, with significant smoke and water damage throughout the main floor,” according to Deputy Fire Chief Matt Irwin.

“This appears to have been caused by fireworks being discharged in the area,” Irwin said, adding that an investigation was underway.

There were no injuries to fire crews reported.

Twelve personal were on the scene from Sedalia Fire Department.

PCAD and Sedalia Police also on scene.
