Christmas might be the most wonderful time of the year... but it's also one of the most DEADLY times of the year.  And no, I'm not talking about the deadly dog farts after you sneak him some ham. No, this is the real deal here, folks. Here are five weird things that could KILL YOU between now and Christmas.

1.  Your Christmas tree.

About 40 people die in the U.S. every year from Christmas tree fires.  One in three are caused by electrical problems, and one in six happen because the tree is too close to a heater.

2.  Opening presents.

6,000 people visit the E.R. each year after hurting themselves cutting, slicing, or stabbing their way into those plastic "clamshell" packages that are impossible to open.

3.  Sledding.

According to the National Safety Council, 33,000 people hurt themselves on sleds every winter.  A lot of those are from hitting trees, fences, and rocks.

4.  Putting up decorations.

More than 5,000 people fall and hurt themselves decorating for Christmas each year.

5.  A heart attack.

Which can kill you ANY time of year.  But at least one study has found that more people die of heart attacks on December 25th than any other day of the year.

So don't worry about the Wet Bandits coming for you, or the creepy puppet from Dead of Night, or even Stripe.  You gotta watch out for that tree, those presents, the decor.

Deadly yours,
Behka
