The Sacred Heart Gremlins soccer team won their homecoming game Friday night, beating Pleasant Hill 5-2.

Playing at Suzie Ditzfeld Memorial Soccer Field, the Gremlins were quick to get on the scoreboard with senior Jackson Manning scoring just 2 minutes into the game. Jackson was assisted by junior Ramses Rivera-Montoya. Jackson scored again about 5 minutes later making the score 2-0. The Roosters scored their first goal with 15 minutes left in the first half.

The score at halftime was 2-1.

Jackson Manning scored a header just over one minute into the second half from a perfectly placed corner kick from junior Josh Pacheco. Pleasant Hill was awarded a free kick after a Sacred Heart penalty and scored their second goal.

Less than 2 minutes later, Jackson Manning scored on a PK making the score 4-2. Sophomore Gabriel Malacara scored the final goal of the game with 17:36 left to play.

Final score: Gremlins 5, Roosters 2

Sacred Heart travels to Ashland Monday, Oct. 23 to play Southern Boone.
