A Sedalia man was injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred Thursday night in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2014 Harley-Davidson, driven by 49-year-old Joseph P. Cantu of Sedalia, was on 65 Highway at Kemp Road around 10:20 p.m., when he struck a deer and traveled off the west side of the roadway.

Cantu suffered serious injuries, and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment.

The Harley had extensive damage.
