As we are now officially into grilling season, (That happens over Memorial Day weekend) coals, wood chips, and propane will help to propel grills across the country. If you haven't gotten into the swing of things with your outdoor cooking, better jump on the grilling bandwagon! The conventional grillmaster will throw steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs over the flame this spring and summer, but what about something different?

According to thepennyhoarder.com, if you feel like going out on the limb and trying something different on the grill this spring/summer, you should try these. Your summer BBQs will never be the same! (Beware-after trying these foods on the grill your neighbors could be at your house every weekend wanting them again and again!)

1. Pineapple-Looking for something different or a side dish to serve up? Try pineapple rings straight out the can or cut up some chunks of the fresh fruit.

2. Watermelon-Did he just say watermelon? Yep...try and see what you think. Sprinkle some cayenne pepper or a litttle lime.  Of course you can keep it conventional with a sprinkle of salt and/or pepper.

3. Donuts-Wow, how about grilling up a few donuts and topping them with some fruit or yogurt? Could turn out to be your favorite summertime dessert.

Bananas- Speaking of fruit...peel a banana, throw it on the grill and serve it up with your favorite ice cream, whipped topping and nuts and you'll think you're in heaven.

Remember to keep your grill area clean for these new treats. Good luck and happy grilling!
