When HBO reconnected with Sarah Jessica Parker a few years back, it wasn’t a “til death do us part” situation. In fact, three seasons of her series Divorce seemed about right for the premium cabler.

Divorce returned to the schedule for its third season this past weekend, but HBO has revealed that the six-episode run will be its last. The final episode will air on Aug. 5.

According to Deadline, Parker will continue to work with HBO beyond the end of Divorce. Her Pretty Matches Productions has been on a first-look deal basis for the past 14 years. She, of course, enjoyed a run on one of the network’s most successful series, Sex and the City, prior to her Divorce run.

“Sarah Jessica Parker has a unique ability to showcase the complexities of personal relationships with such empathy and humor,” said Amy Gravitt, EVP, HBO Programming. “With Divorce, she took our audiences through the keyhole and into the lives of a modern day couple dealing with the fallout of splitting up. As we end with the third and final season of the show, we look forward to our next endeavor with Sarah Jessica and Pretty Matches.”

The series starred Parker and Thomas Haden Church as a newly divorced couple navigating the single world after their split. The cast also includes Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam and Tracy Letts, while adding Becki Newton and James Lesure as love interests for the two main characters. During the series’ run, Parker earned a 2017 Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for her role as Frances Dufresne.

Ending the series was a mutual decision by the network and the producers, with Parker stating, “Between scheduling and complicated lives and actors, it was a confluence of things that came together that helped us decide that six was something that we wanted to do, and we felt confidence that [showrunner] Liz [Tuccillo] could achieve what we were all hoping for for this final look at Frances and Robert.”
