Heartland Waste Customers Now Being Served by Different Garbage Company

After 30 years of service to Missouri, Heartland Waste has sold their company to Republic Services which began garbage pick-ups on Heartland's routes on August 2.

In a letter to customers dated July 31 from both companies, Roger Morgan of Heartland Waste says, "We feel really good about this decision for our community. Republic Services Services cares for their people like we do, and they are committed to safety, service and sustainability. All of these aspects, coupled with their immense stewardship, community giving, diversity and inclusion, impressed us."

The letter introduces customers to Republic Services and talks about the company's achievements before talking about how it will be business as usual with daily operations. The company promised, "There will not be any interruptions to pickups, delivery dates, equipment sizes or billing or changes in our program offings or processes at this time."

That said, residential customers of the former Heartland Waste in Warrensburg have experienced missed and delayed garbage pick-ups that Republic Services characterizes in a voice mail message to customers as minor service delays. The company also has suspended recycling collection until further notice to focus on waste collection "due to the nationwide labor shortage."

The sale of Heartland Waste to Republic Services caught many customers by surprise with their first notice of the sale being seeing a Republic Services garbage truck picking up their refuse.
