Each Christmas season officers from various Johnson County law enforcement agencies get together to give needy and or neglected kids in Johnson County a Christmas experience they won't forget. Women in Networking and the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce are asking you to help these officers and agencies provide this fun experience again this year.

According to a release from the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce, "Shop With a Cop" provides a joyful holiday for kids, who otherwise might not experience. Children who receive this experience are identified by various local agencies, schools and churches.

This year the event will begin and end at the Warrensburg Walmart where the children will shop with their law enforcement partner and a helper. Each child receives $125 dollars to spend on themselves and their family, with some of the money designated to the needs of the child (clothing, shoes, jacket, toiletries etc.)

Here's where you can help make a child's Christmas special this year. "Shop With a Cop" is fully funded with donations. And Women in Networking and the Warrensburg Chamber would like you to consider donating to this great charitable endeavor.

This year organizers would like to raise enough money to accommodate 25 children. That's $3,125.00. If you would like to make a difference by donating to "Shop With a Cop" you can drop off your donation at the Warrnesburg Chamber of Commerce office in downtown Warrensburg. Or you can mail your donation to: Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce,  100 S. Holden Street, Warrensburg, 64093.

"Shop With a Cop" is geared to benefit underprivileged children ages five to eleven. For more information you can contact the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce at 660-747-3168.
