17-year-old Colby Thornton has been charged by Henry County Prosecuting Attorney Richard Shields with burglary 1st degree, kidnapping and stealing in a home invasion case, the Henry County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday morning.

Thornton’s bond has been set at $250,000, and he remains in custody at the Henry County Detention Center.

On Tuesday, Dec. 17 at around 2:15 a.m., Cpl. Swindell was dispatched to Olive Street in Calhoun regarding a home invasion.

At the residence, the elderly female homeowner told Cpl. Swindell that people had entered here home, tied her up and left the area with her purse and her vehicle.

Detectives Kubilus and Lawson responded to the scene to assist. The victim was transported to Golden Valley Hospital by ambulance for evaluation of possible injuries.

While investigating the scene, deputies followed information that led them to the victim's stolen vehicle and later to a residence in Calhoun.

The suspect, Thornton, was arrested on a 24-hour hold for burglary in the 1st degree, third degree kidnapping and stealing. The investigation is on-going and additional suspects are being sought this morning regarding this incident.
