Here Comes The State Fair and The Chance of Rain

With the Missouri State Fair just a few days away, you knew Mother Nature had to throw in the chance of some showers into the forecast.

Dry conditions today will give way to developing showers and storms early Wednesday morning. This will mark the beginnings of a fairly unsettled period as showers and storms will be possible just about every day through the end of the weekend.

Here's the forecast according to the National Weather Service:

A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Light and variable wind becoming west northwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night

Mostly clear, with a low around 66. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday

A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Light southwest wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Thursday

A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
