The UCM Mules football team lost in the second round of the NCAA Division II football playoffs at Ferris State Saturday. The Mules lost to #1 seed and second ranked Ferris State Bulldogs 37-10.

The Bulldogs did a lot of their damage on the ground rushing for 372 yards and four touchdowns. Conversely the Mules got behind in the second half and were forced into passing situations. Additionally, the Bulldogs did a better job at keeping drives alive on third and fourth downs, and forcing turnovers. Simply, the Bulldogs just had the Mules number on Saturday.

The Mules 11 wins this historic magical season ties the program record. This is also the first time the Mules have won both a conference championship and a playoff game in the same season.

What a wonderful, exciting, season for the students of the University of Central Missouri. The members of the Mules Football Team. Alumni. And those Warrensburg residents who follow the team. Thank you gentlemen for a great, thrilling, exciting season.
