This Wednesday, I will turn 40.  Is that even a milestone age anymore? It doesn't feel like it. Well, this year my family have gone whole hog.  Which is so nice, but totally not necessary. I'm so thankful for them and their wonderful gifts, though.  Such sweethearts, really.

Let me start off by being direct and telling you something I've been hinting at for ages.  I'll just come out and admit it. Deep breath.

I love BTS.

I do.  They're Korean, and they're funny, and they do great music. I know I'm not their target audience, and I know it seems strange, but it's a thing.  I'll leave it at that for now, I'm sure I could do a whole 'nother blog post on why and how much I love them. But anyway.  My family knows that I love them, obviously.   That's because when I like something, I REALLY like it. Like obsessively.  I have to know everything about it, I have to see everything they've produced on the internet, I have to read every book about them, I have to see every interview, etc etc etc.  It's annoying and I'm sure it drives everyone around me insane.

But luckily for me, my family likes me, so they've given into my various obsessions over the years and probably enabled me more than they should have.  And this year, for my 40th, they leaned in hard.

My sister knows I'm a nerd and a dork and totally uncool and somehow still supports that about me.  So she gave me a BUNCH of stuff. (Butter excluded).

She had to tell me what these are.  You put them on the back of your phone so you can hold it easier.

This is a lanyard for your keys or ID.  Maybe you'll see it if I need to wear a nametag.

Stickers are awesome.  You're denying yourself joy if you say you don't like them.

Meagan and Laney had to explain this one to me.  Apparently you take the photos and you hang them on the rope with the little clothes pins.  It's "an aesthetic".

And as we all know, working in an office like I do, you have to have pens.

Husbando went cute on me and bought me special BTS socks.  One pair for each day of the week, perfect!

There's something else he got me, I don't know what it is yet.

Then my father topped it all off by buying me plane tickets to Chicago in May.  Why? Because of my birthday present to myself.

YES, Children. It happened.  I managed to get myself (and my friend who lives in Chicago, Heather) tickets to the show.  It was very stressful and I had heard horror stories from others about how hard it was to get tickets, but I got them.  My poor friend Emily in Los Angeles had open four computers, two phones and a tablet and STILL didn't get tickets.  They were sold out very quickly.   So I got lucky.

And my birthday isn't even until Wednesday!  This is craziness.

What's the craziest thing you ever got for your birthday? What was your best birthday celebration? Tell me all about it!

Nerdingly yours,

Behka
