Lainey Wilson, arguably, the hottest young country star of the last year, will headline the Missouri State Fair grandstand show on Friday, August 11, 2023. Opening for her that night will be Jackson Dean.

Nearly ten years to the day she left her hometown to pursue her country music career Wilson went #1 with her ACM Song Of The Year, "Things A Man Ought To Know". Some of her other awards include being named Billboard's Top New Country Artist of 2021, CMT's 2022 Breakout Artist of the Year, and being named to almost every artist to watch list.

Throughout her career, Wilson has won legions of fans with her Bell Bottom County sound and aesthetic, which blends a traditional country sound with a modern yet retro flare. With a great rockstar stage presence, Wilson has performed across the globe in the US, Germany, and the UK with artists like  Jon Pardi, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, HARDY, Jason Aldean, and Ashley McBryde.

Opening for Wilson will be Jackson Dean, who is getting noticed for his old-school, gritty, lyric-driven, outlaw country sound. The young artist, who's only 22, is also a skilled artisan whose pastimes include making leather goods, wood-burned arts, and camping under the stars.

Our own Taste Of Country called Jackson Dean a "modern-day Country rambler". His single, "Don't Come Lookin'" was the fastest song to reach number one in 2022. Dean has performed with superstars like Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Brantley Gilbert, Kane Brown, Jake Owen, Brooks & Dunn, Lee Brice, and Brothers Osborne while appearing at events like Austin City Limits and Stagecoach.

Tickets for Lainey Wilson and Jackson Dean are the most expensive tickets for a fair grandstand show announced so far for this year. Grandstand seats are $50 each, while track seats will be $60. Ticket prices do not include fees and fair admission tickets.

Tickets for all Missouri State Fair grandstand shows go on sale through E-Tix on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. The Fair Box Office will open at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 27, for those who want to purchase tickets in person.

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
