Jason Aldean's re-scheduled date at Mizzou Arena on Friday August 7 has been cancelled.

The rescheduled date is no longer on Jason Aldean's tour itinerary on his website. The Ticketmaster link to the original show on March 13 now says "cancelled" vs. "rescheduled" or "postponed." And when you click the event info link I get a "technical difficulties" note. The Live Nation website also now lists the show as "cancelled" as well.

According to the Ticketmaster website, "If an event is canceled, it means that there is no rescheduled date for your event."

It's a disappointing development for area Jason Aldean fans looking forward to seeing his show. Does it create an opportunity for the Missouri State Fair or a Kansas City area venue to book a date?

Perhaps. Aldean is booked both weekends of the fair, however, he has no shows from August 16 - August 20 so there is a window. The routing isn't favorable with a show outside of Washington, DC on August 15 and Pittsburgh on August 21 and Chicago August 22. That's a lot of travel to come to Sedalia for the fair.

A Kansas City date might offer more favorable routing in late July. Aldean plays Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday July 25 and his next scheduled show is Rogers, Arkansas on Friday July 31. I don't have any special knowledge about concert routing, but it would seem to me he could do a Kansas City date Monday July 27, Tuesday July 28, or Wednesday July 29. Of course this is me just spit ballin' and playing armchair concert booker.

If you're thinking of using your refund from the Columbia show to see his St. Louis show, you can't even do that right now. At this point Live Nation is only selling tickets to see his show if you purchase their Country Megaticket. Great for the St. Louis area resident who wants to see a lot of shows, a little less attractive for those of us West Central Missouri.
