A Jefferson City woman died from her injuries after the boat she was on collided with another object in the water on the Missouri River Saturday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1984 Skeeter Strada S-80 was westbound on the Missouri River at the 142 mile marker at 7 p.m. Saturday evening, when the boat struck an unknown object floating in the water, throwing both occupants from their seats.

51-year-old Scotty J. Smallwood of Lohman was the driver of the boat, while 48-year-old Tanna R. Henson of Jefferson City was the other occupant.

Smallwood suffered moderate injuries, and was transported by EMS to University Hospital, while Henson was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m. at University Hospital.
