KCI Reports July 2022 Passenger Traffic

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Aviation Department reports that 932,878 passengers arrived and departed through Kansas City International Airport’s gates in July, a 4.8-percent increase from July 2021.

Passenger boardings were up 2.9 percent, with a total of 465,864 boarded. Year-to-date passenger boardings are 2,740,370, up 37.7 percent. For the year to date, total passengers in and out total 5,485,856, up 38.4 percent.

Air cargo tonnages, which consist of both freight and mail transported by air, for all carriers at Kansas City International were down 3.6 percent in July with a total of 21.5 million pounds handled. Year to date, 148.7 million pounds have been handled, up 18.9 percent. Air freight handled at Kansas City International during July amounted to 21.4 million pounds, down 3.3 percent year-over-year. Year to date, air freight is up 18.6 percent with a total of 147.1 million pounds handled.

Air mail for July was down 35.6 percent from July 2021 with 135,497 pounds handled. Air mail year to date for 2022 is up 55.7 percent from 2021 with 1,692,725 pounds handled.

The number of peak-day scheduled aircraft departures for July 2022 was 135. Service was offered to 44 nonstop markets. There was an average of 36,066 arriving and departing scheduled seats in the market each day. The all-cargo carriers reported 7 daily departures for July.
