A Kingsville teenager was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday morning in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2001 Ford, driven by 18-year-old Kaden A. Adams of Kingsville, was at Route T and SW 300 Road (south of Kingsville High School) just after 7:30 a.m., when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a southbound 2001 GMC, driven by 31-year-old Maze M. Shields of Holden. Adams was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Adams was flown to Children's Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:38 a.m., by George Abraham.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Ron's Towing.

Johnson County Deputies assisted the Patrol.

This was the 44th fatal crash for Troop A and the 46th fatality in 2022.
