Two women were injured in a three-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Madison L. Ayscue of Knob Noster was the driver of a westbound 2005 Hyundai Elantra on Business 13 at US 50 at 1:33 p.m., when she attempted to make a left turn and was struck by a northbound 2001 GMC Yukon driven by 50-year-old Chari L. Fisher of Higginsville. After impact, the Elantra struck a westbound 2011 Chevy Silverado driven by 42-year-old Joshua M. Shire of Knob Noster.

Ayscue suffered serious injuries and was flown to St. Luke's in Kansas City by Lifeflight for treatment. Fisher suffered minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by EMS.

The Silverado and Yukon had moderate damage, while the Elantra was totaled.

Shire and Fisher were wearing their seat belts when the crash happened, while it was unknown if Ayscue was wearing hers, the report said.
