According to Pettis County Election Authority Nick La Strada, Missouri is not an automatic mail ballot state.

In the State of Missouri it is required to fill out an Absentee Application to your local Election Authority.

Once it is received, the office then verifies that you are a registered voter before mailing out your ballot. As of right now Pettis County has received 1,136 applications, La Strada said.

If you would like to vote absentee by mail, you must fill out this Ballot Request form and send it to the Pettis County Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Oct 21. For additional Absentee Voting Information, call (660) 826-5000 ext.918

This form may be returned by email to nick@pettiscomo.com, by fax at 660-829-0717, by mail to 415 S Ohio Suite 214, Sedalia, Mo., 65301 or drop it off in person.

After your request is processed, they will send you a ballot.
