The Lady Roadrunners (11-6) lost 69-61 to North Arkansas College in Sedalia on Jan. 11.

SFCC trailed 22-21 at the end of the first quarter. North Arkansas pushed the advantage to 10 points with less than five minutes to go in the second quarter. SFCC trimmed the deficit to 35-32 at halftime. North Arkansas pushed the advantage to double digits with two minutes remaining in the third quarter.

SFCC turned up the defensive pressure in the fourth quarter but could not overtake North Arkansas.

"I thought we lacked energy and discipline tonight," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Nicole Collier. "I felt we didn't play as a team. We didn't buy into getting down and guarding and communicating our way through it on the defensive end. We gave up seven offensive rebounds in the first half to a team that averages 10 offensive rebounds per game. I felt like we were still in a position to win the game, but we didn't pick up our energy until about five minutes left to go in the fourth quarter, and that is just too late."

Freshman guard Perryauna Youmans led SFCC in scoring with 18 points, and sophomore guard Biance Stocks contributed 12 points. Freshman forward Aiyanna Tanksley added 10 points and tied for the team lead in rebounds at 10 with sophomore forward Autumn Wallace. Wallace dished out a team-high four assists. Sophomore guard Paige Spencer led the team in steals with four.
