Lucas Oil Speedway Introducing Kids Power Wheels Races

Starting Saturday night your kid will be able to compete in Kids Power Wheel racing during intermission at Lucas Oil Speedway. All the kids need to compete in the race is their own battery-powered Power Wheel car, an admission ticket to the race, and be a member of the free Frogs Jr Fan Club.

Kids will race on the front straightaway during intermission navigating a course outlined by orange cones.

"Involving the kids is something we're striving for," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said in a media release. "I think this is another way to spark their interest in the sport and give them a little more fun and an early taste of being involved in the sport in a safe way."

Kids can center their own battery-powered Power Wheel cars by signing up for the Frogs Jr Fan Club on the south end of the Midway prior to the races. In addition to the kids' Power Wheel race this weekend, Power Wheel races will be held on the following Saturdays: May 21, June 18, July 30, and August 27. Points will be tabulated and a min-season champion crowned with the four regular Weekly Racing Series classes on August 27.

There will be two classes of Power Wheel races, one for 6-12 volt cars and another for 24-36 volt cars. No power or speed enhancement modifications are allowed. Parents, if desired, must provide safety equipment if desired.

Frogs Jr Fan Club members can also sign up each week to win a pit tour led by flagman Mike Striegel. Winners will be chosen each week by random drawing.

Power Wheel Racing is open to kids 3-9, and the pit tours are open to kids 5-12 years of age.

This Saturday the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series kicks off this Saturday evening. It'll be the first of 11 weekly programs at Lucas Oil Speedway.  Advance tickets are available now online only for $12 for those 16 and older. Tickets will be $15 at the door.
