Excuse me, I'm going to have to relocate from underneath the huge rock I've been living under.

How did I, as a stepmother of two teenage girls, never hear about this?

Sometimes in the summer, things can get a little stagnant. It's too hot, the pool's full, and there's only so many times you can do the same stuff over and over again.  But this? This is something the whole family will actually enjoy (instead of being fun for the kids and tolerable to the adults). Here's what they say you can expect:

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these "makers" to show hobbies, experiments, projects.  We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth - a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

There's so much stuff to do, and the kids can really get involved. R2D2 builders, liquid nitrogen, creations in wood, blacksmithing, baking, rope making, crafting, A MAGIC TREE HOUSE? And that's not even like, a third of what's going on out there. It'll be at Union Station in Kansas City on Saturday and Sunday, June 23rd and 24th.

Fairely yours,
Behka
