The State of Missouri launched the Missouri Vaccine Navigator, an online registry portal to help Missourians get vaccinated against the coronavirus. This according to a release from Governor Mike Parson.

The registry is similar to the preregistration questionnaires being used by Pettis County Health Center, Johnson Count Community Health Services, Bothwell Regional Health Center and Western Missouri Medical Center in terms of the questions it asks registrants to answer to register with the state.

Governor Parson says the registration process will help connect Missourians with more avenues to receive a vaccine and also will help Missouri's COVID-19 team determine where the greatest demand for vaccines exist throughout the state.

According to the Governor's press release once signed up through the state, registrants will be altered when they are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and and will be able to sign up for mass vaccination clinics and other vaccine clinics from health care providers in their area. The database will also remind registrants when it's time to schedule their second dose of the vaccine.

“A crucial part of this process is for people to follow up for the second dose in order for them to be fully vaccinated and protected against COVID-19,” said Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Director Dr. Randall Williams in the release. “This system uses best practices to ensure patients and providers follow through with that second dose for the maximum amount of protection.”

Missouri residents can sign up through the Missouri Vaccine Navigator here to be notified when they are eligible to be vaccinated and be notified when they can register for vaccine events in their area. Additionally the State of Missouri has staff available to help individuals register through their COVID-19 hotline at 877-435-8411.
