Mizzou Men’s B-Ball Pauses Schedule Due to COVID-19

The University of Missouri Sports program is not having the best of luck due to COVID-19.

Mizzou Athletics released information on Friday, January 8, citing all of the men's basketball team activities has been paused following a positive test and subsequent contract tracing protocols.

Due to this the Saturday game against LSU has been postponed. Any further decisions regarding games next week against Vanderbilt and Texas A&M will be made at a later date.

Missouri Head Basketball Coach Cuonzo Martin made the following statement.:

“This continues to be a challenging time across the college basketball landscape, and it is important that we prioritize the health and safety of our student-athletes first and foremost."

If you remember during the end of the college football bowl season, the Missouri Tigers' game against the Iowa Hawkeyes was canceled due to COVID-19 issues. The game was to have been played Wednesday, December 30 at the TransPerfect Music City Bowl in Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to CBS Sports two games on Saturday involving Top-20 ranked teams have been postponed. Not only the #13 Missouri Tigers vs. the LSU Tigers but also #19 Clemson at North Carolina.

Mizzou/LSU is the second SEC game to be postponed this weekend as South Carolina vs. Ole Miss was previously postponed. Other notable games from major conferences that have been postponed due to COVID-19 issues include Virginia Tech, Louisville, Michigan, Penn State, Oregon State and Colorado.
