One Block of South Park Closed through Wednesday

The City of Sedalia plans to close sections of South Park Avenue to the north of West 6th Street to the south of West 7th Street to through traffic periodically during the coming week, May 16 through May 18.

The road closures will be from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. each of the scheduled days. Residents along South Park Avenue will be able to access their driveways during this time.

The City’s contractor will be finishing the installation of storm sewer improvements in the area to reduce overtopping of street gutters and curb inlets.

Heavy equipment and personnel will be in the area and it was determined the safest alternative is to close the street during this period to through traffic to allow for the work to be completed in a safe and timely manner.

Travelers in the area are advised to find an alternate route to their destination.
