Thursday night, Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a silver colored Jeep in the area of Highway M and Goodwill Chapel Road. The plate currently displayed on the Jeep was registered to a Ford vehicle. The driver of the Jeep was contacted. His Missouri operator's license was found to be suspended. The driver, who was not named in the report, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for Driving While Suspended. The driver was booked and released with a court date, while the Jeep was secured and left roadside.


 

Pettis County Deputies were dispatched to the 31000 block of Harding Road for a report of a child custody issue Wednesday night. After contact was made with the parents, the issue was resolved and both remained on scene at the residence.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Deputies took a report from the 600 block of McVey Road in reference to a possible burglary no longer in progress. The investigation continues.


 

Tuesday afternoon, an unnamed subject self-surrendered to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office. The subject had four active warrants issued by the City of Sedalia for a total bond of $240.00 cash.


 

Deputies observed a 2016 Nissan Altima bearing temp tags turn onto East 17th Street from Ohio without using a turn signal early Tuesday morning. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle and the occupants came to rest in the parking lot of the Cenex store, 120 East 16th Street. Subsequently, Kallie Bennett, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested for an active Pettis County warrant for Possession of Stolen Property. Total bond was set at $5,000. Bennett was transported to the Pettis County Jail without incident.


 

Tuesday morning, Deputies took a report of assault in the 200 block of North Walnut Street in La Monte.
