Well, it's about that time, folks. We're gonna keep hammering this one home until all of West Central Missouri is lining up outside the Salvation Army Hall on Saturday. It's something important, and yet requires so little from you. I've been telling you about the Wood Family for a few weeks now. I've known them for a few years, and you won't find a sweeter mess of kids with such amazing parents. They've been through a lot recently, and it's because one of their youngest, Kaizler, is fighting Leukemia.

It's so tough to go through cancer at any age, I know I saw it several times in my family, but never in case where the affected was that young. Kaizler is only five years old, but he's a real trooper. He's always got a big smile on his face, and he's got the sunniest disposition - definitely not what you'd expect for someone with such a heavy weight on his shoulders.

And you can imagine how that weight is ten times heavier for his parents. Not only do they have the health scares, but they've got five other kids. They have so many variables and factors of things that could go wrong in a heartbeat.  For the kids, I'm sure that Rachel and Tony do their best to make them feel protected and cared for, but... you gotta think the kids worry, too. That's their brother. As much as we don't want kids to have to worry about anything other than who gets the next turn at jump rope... it happens.

But, here's the good part.  You can help. You really can. I know you might be thinking, "I don't have tons of money to help them, I don't have a medical cure, I don't have tons of time to volunteer..." You don't need any of that. All you need is an open heart and an hour or so. The Prayers for Kaizler benefit dinner and silent auction is THIS WEEKEND. It's going to be from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Saturday night at the Salvation Army Hall. They'll have lasagna and side dishes with desserts and drinks, and tons of stuff available for bid in the silent auction. And if you don't have a lot of money, that's fine. Just give what you can - it's a free will donation. Give as much or as little as you can.

The important thing is that you show up, and you do what you can. It doesn't take much to change lives. All we need is a little compassion, a little caring, and a little time. So please, come to the dinner and auction, bid on items, donate what you can.  And beforehand, spread the word. Share the post, start the conversation, anything you can do will brighten this family's path.

And you know I'm gonna be elbow deep in lasagna.

Auctioningly yours,
Behka
